Helen Norman Profile
Helen Norman was called to the Bar in 1973. From 1971 to 1976, she worked as an in-house trade marks lawyer for a leading oil company in London. During this time she dealt with a large portfolio of trade mark applications, both in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe, Africa, South America and Asia; and advised on intellectual property licensing agreements, and on the acquisition and disposal of intellectual property rights. Since 1976, she has worked in Higher Education, first at Bristol Polytechnic where she became a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Law, then as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law at the University of Bristol. She has taught Intellectual Property since 1981 to a wide range of undergraduate, graduate and post-professional students in Law, Engineering, and Business and Management Studies. She also has extensive experience in providing legal continuing professional development courses in Intellectual Property. She was Deputy Programme Director of the Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice at the University of Bristol from 1991-2009. She is co-author (with Ruth Annand) of Blackstone's Guide to the Trade Marks Act 1994 (OUP, 1994) and of Blackstone's Guide to the Community Trade Mark (OUP, 1998) and author of Intellectual Property Law Directions (OUP, 2011).

Helen Norman will provide all necessary advice and handle all necessary actions in respect of:
- trade mark applications;
- trade mark opposition, revocation and invalidity proceedings;
- trade marks, copyright, patents and registered and unregistered designs ownership and licensing agreements; non-disclosure agreements;
- trade marks, copyright, patents and registered and unregistered design disputes.
Trusts
Helen Norman will provide all necessary advice in the preparation of and in disputes arising in respect of all types of trust, as set out below.
- The creation, interpretation and management of trusts, whether private or charitable
- Gifts to unincorporated associations.
